Carman finished the competition at 5-under par, three strokes ahead of the field. It was a come-from-behind victory for Carmen, who was fifth after posting a first round 76.

She was red hot over the last two rounds – playing those 36 holes at 9-under par to take home her first Oregon Women’s Stroke Play crown. In Thursday’s final round, Carman had a blemish-free scorecard which featured six birdies and 12 pars. She was the only player to shoot rounds in the 60s during the competition.

Elli Gordon (72-72-70) and Victoria Gailey (72-71-71) tied for second place at 2-under par.

In the senior women’s division it was Wright who held off the field. She ended the competition at 10-over par shooting rounds of 76, 74 and 76 on her way to a first-ever win in the event.

Wright had a division-best eight birdies over the three-day competition.

Ginny Burkey (76-72-79) and Leilani Norman (74-78-75) finished tied for second place just one stroke back of Wright.

The Oregon Golf Association championships schedule continues Aug. 20-23 in Florence at the 7th Oregon Four-Ball Championship. That competition will be played at Florence Golf Links.
