Ziegler Wins Back-to-Back OGA Tournament of Champions
Ziegler, who won the men’s division a year ago at Eagle Crest Resort’s Ridge Course, finished 8-under par to win the event by a stroke. He was 2-under par Saturday finishing with birdies on three of his last four holes to end the round in a four-way tie for first place. Ziegler then posted a bogey-free final round that included six birdies on his way to another win in the event.
Collin Hodgkinson (70-67) finished alone in second place at 7-under par, while Adam Harrington (71-68) took second at 5-under.
Gailey was the only women’s competitor to finish in the red, winning the event at 3-under par after posting an opening-round 71 and finishing with a 2-under par 70 on Sunday. She finished with nine birdies over the course of the two-day competition to hold off Krissy Peterson (74-70) who ended the event in second place at even par.
In the senior men’s division Greller finished 4-under par to win by two strokes over Russell Humphrey (70-72). Greller jumped out to the lead on day one having posted a 3-under par 69, and followed that up with a 1-under par 71 to claim his first crown in this event.
Wright held off Sandy Day and Marcia Fisher en route to the senior women’s division title. Wright was 1-over par after the first day posting an opening-round 73 that featured four birdies. She held onto her lead Sunday finishing with a final-round 77 to win the event by three strokes.
Day (79-74) and Fisher (79-76) finished second and third place respectively.
The 2022 OGA Championships schedule resumes in June with qualifying events for the 113th Oregon Amateur Championship. Those will be held June 4 at Quail Valley GC, June 7 at Stone Creek GC and June 11 at Tokatee GC.
