Gailey Wins Back-to-Back Pub Links Titles; Two Local Golfers Advance to U.S. Amateur

The 25th Oregon Public Links Championship took place July 9-10 at McNary Golf Club in Keizer. A day later the OGA administered the local qualifying for the 2022 U.S. Amateur Championship at Arrowhead Golf Club in Molalla.

Victoria Gailey, coming off her recent victory in the 113th Oregon Amateur Championship, continued her hot play with a win in the Oregon Pub Links.

Gailey, who won the event a year ago, shot rounds of 72 and 73 en route to a four-stroke victory in the women’s division. Tannica Porter (75-74) finished second at 7-over par.

Naoki Easterday took home hardware in the men’s championship division – posting rounds of 67 and 68 to win going away. His opening round 67 was the low round for the competition and featured five birdies and just one bogey.

Jimmy Kelley (71-68) and Montana Frame (70-70) finished second and third respectively in the championship division.

Billy Anderson (75-73) took the men’s open division with a 6-over par. Joe Murray (76-63) was the open division net champion.

Dukeminier Earns Medalist Honors at U.S. Amateur Qualifier

On Monday out at Arrowhead GC, it was Jack Dukeminier and Zach Foushee who advanced to the U.S. Amateur Championship slated for late August in New Jersey.

Dukeminier won the 36-hole qualifier going away with rounds of 66 and 67 to finish 9-under par. His opening 18 holes was nearly flawless, posting six birdies to go with the lone bogey. Dukeminier tallied another six birdies, offset by a pair of bogeys, during the second round.

Foushee (69-70) earned the second qualifying spot after defeating Nate Stember on the first hole of a sudden-death playoff. Foushee, who finished at 3-under par, recorded five birdies on each round.

The 2022 U.S. Amateur Championship is scheduled for Aug. 15-21 and will be played at The Ridgewood Country Club and Arcola Country Club in Paramus N.J.

The 2022 OGA Championships schedule continues July 16 and July 17 with the OGA Parent / Child Chapman which will be played at Salem Golf Club.
