Roseburg's Anita Wicks Wins Second-Straight PNGA Senior Women's Amateur

MEDINA, WASH. - Anita Wicks (Roseburg, Ore.) won her second-consecutive Pacific Northwest Senior Women's Amateur Championship on Tuesday, defeating Leslie Folsom (Tukwila, Wash.) in a playoff at Overlake Golf & Country Club in Medina, Wash.

Wicks finished Monday's first round in the lead by one shot, ultimately falling in a tie for first with Folsom after 36 holes. Wicks made par on the second playoff hole, securing her second-straight title in the event.

The Roseburg resident has had another impressive golf season in 2017 after earning PNGA Senior Women's Player of the Year honors in 2016. This year, Wicks won the Oregon Senior Women's Stroke Play Championship - her fourth win in the event all-time. She also advanced to match play at the 2017 U.S. Senior Women's Amateur, and made it to the quarterfinals of the Oregon Senior Women's Amateur Championship.

Ginny Burkey (Eugene, Ore.), runner-up to Wicks at this year's Oregon Senior Women's Stroke Play, earned third place this week at the PNGA Senior Women's Amateur. Leilani Norman (Eugene, Ore.), runner-up at the 2017 Oregon Women's Mid-Amateur Championship this summer, finished in seventh.
