OGA Championships Schedule Finalized for 2018

WOODBURN, ORE. ­­– The Oregon Golf Association announced Wednesday the finalized OGA Championships schedule for 2018, with 14 events being held in Oregon between April and October.

Highlights of this year’s schedule include seven championships being held in Central Oregon – including the region’s pinnacle amateur golf event, the 109th Oregon Amateur Championship, which will be held June 18-23, 2018 at Bend Golf & Country Club in Bend, Ore. As with 2017, the 35th Oregon Senior Women’s Amateur Championship will be held concurrently with the Oregon Amateur.

Last year, Gigi Stoll (Tigard, Ore.), a current junior at the University of Arizona, won her third Oregon Women’s Amateur title. UCLA junior Cole Madey (West Linn, Ore.) won his first Oregon Amateur title in 2017, which was at his home course, The Oregon Golf Club in West Linn. Lara Tennant (Portland, Ore.) earned the victory in her first Oregon Senior Women’s Amateur Championship.

After taking place separately last year, the 28th Oregon Women’s Stroke Play and 13th Oregon Super Senior Championships will once again be held concurrently in 2018. Both events will be held August 14-15 at Broken Top Club in Bend, Ore.

The 3rd Oregon Amateur Four-Ball Championship will be hosted by Juniper Golf Course in Redmond, Ore., marking the third-consecutive year that the newest OGA Championship will be held in Central Oregon. The 91st OGA Men’s Team Championship (Black Butte Ranch – Black Butte Ranch, Ore.) and the 8th OGA Tour Championship (Brasada Canyons Golf Course – Powell Butte, Ore.) will also be held in Central Oregon.

The 30th Oregon Mid-Amateur Championship will take place at an earlier date on the calendar than past years, being held May 5-6 at Stone Creek Golf Club in Oregon City, Ore. Arrowhead Golf Club in Molalla, Ore. will once again host an OGA Championship, this year being the 66th Oregon Men’s Stroke Play Championship, while the 68th OGA Parent-Child Chapman will be held at Salem Golf Club in Salem, Ore. for the 10th consecutive year.

Rounding out the 2018 Championships schedule will be the 21st Oregon Public Links Championship, held at the OGA Golf Course on Aug. 11-12; the 35th Oregon Senior Amateur Championship, held Sept. 4-7 at Illahe Hills Country Club in Salem, Ore., and the 34th Oregon Net Championship, taking place Sept. 22-23 at The Resort at the Mountain in Welches, Ore.
