SALEM, ORE. - The final sanctioned tournament of the year took place last weekend with the playing of the 2017 Charlotte's Tournament of Champions on Saturday, Sept. 9th at Creekside Golf Club in Salem. Players in the Charlotte's Tournament of Champions had previously won their division at a sanctioned event during the 2017 season. The Drive, Chip, and Putt Regional Finals were held on Saturday, September 9th for the West Region. Several Oregon Junior Golfers competed at The Olympic Club in San Francisco, Calif. Two OJGers won their respective divisions and have earned an invitation to compete at Augusta National, site of The Masters, next April. Thank you to Cambia for sponsoring the Cambia Walking Challenge ! For the second year in a row Oregon Junior Golf received the most votes during the LPGA Cambia Portland Classic Charity Challenge and won the $10,000 prize from Cambia! Thank you to all of the fans and volunteers who logged steps for Oregon Junior Golf over four rounds of competition! Standard Bearers were averaging 12,000 steps for a round of golf! Some volunteers walked double rounds (36 holes) and logged over 22,000 steps! Thank you to everyone for their support of OJG!
