Jacobs Advances to Quarterfinals at U.S. Women's Mid-Am

HOUSTON, TEXAS - Amanda Jacobs (Portland, Ore.) has advanced to the quarterfinals of the U.S Women's Mid-Amateur Championship for the second-consecutive year.

Jacobs, 30, won two matches on Tuesday to advance to this year's final eight. In the round of 32 she defeated No. 11 seed Hana Kim (Los Angeles, Calif.) 3&2, while in the round of 16, Jacobs beat No. 6 seed Martha Leach (Hebron, Ky.) 3&1. Jacobs is the No. 43 seed in match play, after finishing at 155 (+11) in two-day stroke play qualifying.

In 2016, Jacobs also advanced to the quarterfinals at the U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur. She fell to Olivia Herrick (Roseville, Minn.) 3&1 with a berth to the semifinals on the line.

Jacobs will play No. 3 seed Melissa Mar (San Francisco, Calif.) in Wednesday's quarterfinal match at 6:00am PST.
