Mary Scott Wolfe (Beaverton, Ore.), a junior-to-be at Jesuit High School, earned medalist honors after finishing at 2-under par (70), the only player to shoot under par. She birdied two of the final four holes to secure not only a spot at this year's Girls' Junior, but also first place in the qualifier.
Shotika Phadungmartvorakul (Bakersfield, Calif.) and Julie (Youn Soo) Ju (Chandler, Ariz.) also earned qualifying spots, shooting 74 (+2) and 75 (+3), respectively. The final qualifying spot came down to a four-player playoff at 4-over par between Natalie Pietromonaco (Auburn, Calif.), Tannica Porter (Eugene, Ore.), Baylee Hammericksen (Medford, Ore.) and Lauren Cho (La Palma, Calif.). After one playoff hole, Pietromonaco earned the fourth and final qualifying berth. Porter earned first alternate, and Hammericksen is the second alternate.
The 2018 U.S. Girls' Junior will take place July 16-21 at Poppy Hills Golf Course in Pebble Beach, Calif.
