Elmes, Lee, Meeuwsen Teams Win Titles at 2017 OGA Parent-Child Chapman

SALEM, ORE. – The team of Matt and Riley Elmes (Lake Oswego, Ore.) won the gross title, while the teams of Brian and Benjamin Lee (West Linn, Ore.) and Nolan and Jason Meeuwsen (Hillsboro, Ore.) earned net titles this past weekend at the 67th OGA Parent-Child Chapman, played at Salem Golf Club in Salem, Ore.

The Elmes squad, which included Riley, a 2017 Oregon Amateur semifinalist, fired a 7-under par 65 on Sunday to claim the gross title. Their round included an eagle on the par-5 first hole and birdies on three of the final five holes.

Second-place gross went to the teams of Scott and Tyson Campbell (Redmond/Salem, Ore.) and Scott and Matthew Hval (Portland, Ore.). Both teams first 4-under par 68s. The Campbell squad’s round was the low gross score of Saturday’s field, while the Hval team finished second to the Elmes father/son pairing on Sunday.

The net title was won by the Lee and Meeuwsen squads, with both two-person teams firing impressive net rounds of 16-under par 56. Jim and Lucas Paul (Salem, Ore.) earned third place net, shooting 13-under par 59 on Sunday, the low new score of the day.
