Close Race in All Divisions at 65th Oregon Men's Stroke Play
CRESWELL, ORE. - All three divisions are tightly contested going into the final day of the 65th Oregon Men's Stroke Play, with the final round taking place Sunday, August 6th at Emerald Valley Golf and Resort in Creswell, Ore.
Cuts were made in each division, with the top half of the field, including ties, advancing to Sunday's final round.
In the Open Division, two players are tied for first at 3-under par - defending champion Kevin Geniza (Corvallis, Ore.) and Concordia University, Portland senior Nicholas Huff (Ridgefield, Wash.). Calvin Green (Springfield, Ore.), playing just down the road from his current residence in Springfield, is in third at 2-under par.
This year's Oregon Mid-Amateur champion, Jack Dukeminier (Beaverton, Ore.), is in fourth at 1-under par. Trevor Harding (Portland, Ore.) is at 1-over par, while first-round leader Alec Berrey (Corvallis, Ore.) is in a tie for sixth with three other players at 2-over par.
In the Senior Division, Scott Larsen (Cottage Grove, Ore.), who's the superintendent at Emerald Valley, is tied with two-time defending champion Pat O'Donnell (Happy Valley, Ore.) at 1-over par. Randy Mahar (Portland, Ore.), 2013 and 2014 champion, and Bill Winter (Portland, Ore.) are tied for third, three shots back.
Keith Buckman (West Linn, Ore.) leads the Master-40 division at 5-over par. Jeff Ward (Bend, Ore.) and Jason Wood (Portland, Ore.) are tied for second, five shots back at 10-over par.
